Air dispersion modeling is carried out keeping in view the requirements of certain projects. The dispersion models are then used to estimate or to predict the downwind concentration of air pollutants or toxins emitted from sources such as industrial plants, vehicular traffic or accidental chemical releases.
At EMC Gulf, air quality modeling analysis employs USEPA Regulatory Model “AERMOD”. AERMOD is a graphic user interface for the ISCST3 USEPA air dispersion model. The ISCST3 (Industrial Source Complex – Short Term version 3) dispersion model is a steady-state Gaussian plume model which can be used to assess air pollutant concentrations and/or deposition fluxes from a wide variety of sources associated with an industrial source complex.
